Learn MoreWhat we do
Farming
We grow roughly 3800 acres of root crops a year, 2800 acres of that is carrots, 800 acres of parsnips and 200 acres of chantenay. Our root crops are grown in all areas of the country ranging from Suffolk to Scotland.
Learn MoreTransport
Our Transport division has grown rapidly over recent years with continuous investments into vehicles and the latest fridge technologies. We also undertake a large amount of haulage for external companies.
Learn MorePackhouse
Once our crops arrive back at Huntapac we flume wash them out of the trailer before they go through a number of washing and polishing stages.
When the product has been washed they are then cooled down to temperature before being manually and optically graded with regards to size and quality.
Once the vegetables have gone through all the processes they then arrive at one of the packing machines where they are packed and check weighed.
The products are then sent to our coldstores ready for picking for our customer orders.
Learn MoreSince 1942, Home Farm has been the base for the Hunter family growing Root Vegetables. Now an established fourth generation family business growing through innovation and farming throughout the UK.
Through an exciting development for the business, we now dry and mill our crop full of vitamins and minerals providing a natural powder with multiple uses. These are produced under the “Homeground” brand.
Learn MoreOur History
Established in 1942, in West Lancashire, Huntapac Produce Ltd began growing and supplying salads and brassicas throughout the North West.
By the late 1940’s Huntapac had also begun growing root vegetables. Root veg has remained the core of the business to the present day. The company remains family owned and run, and has evolved significantly over the last 80 years.
This development continues at pace, with the latest chapter being the production of powders from outgraded vegetables.
